Fiat Chrysler Automobile has unveiled Jeep’s global development plans for the next 4 years. The company is also working on a new urban SUV, which will be slotted below the Renegade in the global lineup. For people not in the know, Jeep has already confirmed that the Renegade global compact SUV will also go on sale in the Indian market in 2019.
Besides Renegade, Jeep will launch a sub-4 meter SUV in the Indian market by 2020. This small SUV will directly rival the Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon. The new Jeep sub-compact SUV will share platform with the new generation Fiat Panda (4×4) small car. The SUV will be locally developed at Fiat’s Ranjangaon facility. With high-level of local components, the new SUV could be priced under Rs 10 lakh. This could be smallest SUV in India to offer all-wheel-drive layout.
Not just sub-4 meter SUV, Jeep is also working on a 3-row mid-sized utility vehicle. This 7-seater SUV will be positioned above the Compass and is likely to be positioned against the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and others in its category. This SUV is expected to be launched by 2021-22. Also See – Jeep Renegade Exterior & Interior Pictures
