As we have past the first three months of the year, several automakers are getting ready to roll out their latest offerings across segments. The highly-competitive midsize SUV space, which is currently dominated by Hyundai Creta, will witness two all-new product unveilings from Honda Cars India and Citroen in April 2023. Kia India will also give a mid-life update to the Seltos SUV in coming months. Here’s a brief on the new SUVs, which are ready to hit roads in coming months.
Citroen C3 Aircross
The French automaker’s next product for India will make its official debut on 27th April, 2023. Called the Citroen C3 Aircross, the model will come under the brand’s C-Cubed program and take directly on the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara. It’s likely to measure around 4.2 metres in length and come with 5 and 7-seats configurations. It will share the CMP modular platform with the C3 hatchback and might be offered with the 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The motor pushes out a peak power of 110bhp and 190Nm of torque. Compared to the C3 hatch, the new midsize SUV will carry more upright stance, SUV-ish design elements and a newly-designed rear quarter. More details here…
Honda Midsize SUV
Honda’s new midsize SUV is reported to unveil in the month of June 2023. It will be Made-for-India model that will be based on the City’s platform and borrow its design bits from Honda’s global SUVs. For power, the SUV might use the 121bhp, 1.5L iVTEC petrol engine with a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. The carmaker is likely to bring in its strong hybrid version at a later stage. It’s expected to come with the 126bhp, Atkinson Cycle 1.5L petrol hybrid powertrain that does duty in the City sedan. Interior details of Honda’s Hyundai Creta rival SUV are still under the wraps. Updated Kia Seltos
The South Korean automaker will introduce the Kia Seltos facelift by mid 2023. Significant changes will be made to its design, interior and under the hood. The SUV will receive a new 1.5L turbo petrol engine replacing the existing 120bhp, 1.4L turbo petrol motor. The new unit will be more powerful than its replacement, delivering power worth 160bhp with 253Nm. It could get the both manual and automatic gearboxes. The existing 115bhp, 1.5L petrol and 115bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel engines will also be on offer. The 2023 Kia Seltos will get ADAS suite along with the new digital instrument cluster.
