The hatchback and compact and midsize SUV sales have witnessed massive MoM and YoY growth, while the sedan sales declined on both fronts. In the sub-4 meter sedan segment, we currently have Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze and Tata Tigor. Among these four models, three are ready to enter into their new generations. Upcoming Compact Sedans
New-Gen Honda Amaze
The Japanese automaker is reported to introduce the new-generation Honda Amaze sometime in 2024. The new model is likely to share its platform with the upcoming Honda midsize SUV that’s due for mid 2023. It’s essentially the modified version of the Amaze’s existing platform. Some of its design and styling bits could be inspired by the new City and Accord sedans. Inside, the new 2024 Honda Amaze might have a new layout and a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system. New-Gen Maruti Dzire
The new-generation Maruti Dzire is surely one of the much-awaited upcoming compact sedans in India. It’s expected to go on sale in 2024. The biggest change will be made to its powertrain. The new 2024 Maruti Dzire is reported to come with the 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine with Toyota’s strong hybrid tech. The sedan’s new model will deliver an ARAI-certified mileage of 35-40kmpl. The existing 1.2L, 4-cylinder K12N Dualjet petrol engine will also be on offer. Significant changes are likely to be made to its design and interior. New-Gen Tata Tigor
As per earlier reports, Tata Motors is planning to give a generation change to the Tiago hatchback, Tigor compact sedan and Nexon compact SUV. However, their launch timeline is yet to be revealed. The all-new Tata Tigor is reported to be designed on the Alfa (Agile, Light, Flexible, Advanced) platform, borrowed from the Altroz. As of now, there is no official information on the 2024 Tata Tigor. Though, it’s expected to come with heavily updated design and upmarket interior.
