Maruti Grand Vitara, which was launched in September last year, has been generating volume for the Indo-Japanese carmaker in India. In the month of February and March 2023, the company retailed total of 9,183 units and 10,045 units of the midsize SUV respectively. With constantly increasing demand, the Grand Vitara attracts a waiting period of up to 10 months (in Noida).
Buyers in New Delhi and Gurugram have to wait for 7.5-8.5 months and 3 to 4 months respectively. In Chennai, the SUV has a waiting period of 2 months and 3-4.5 months in Pune. Buyers in Bengaluru are reported to get instant delivery with no waiting period. Initially, the Maruti Grand Vitara was offered within the price range of Rs 10.45 lakh – Rs 19.49 lakh. Now, its prices have been increased and it costs from Rs 10.70 lakh to Rs 19.95 lakh (all, ex-showroom).

The Grand Vitara SUV model lineup comes in 11 variants and 6 trims – Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, Zeta+ and Alpha+. The major attraction of the SUV is its 92bhp, 1.5L, 3-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine paired to an electric motor making 79bhp and 141Nm. Its combined power out stands at 115bhp with an e-CVT gearbox. The strong hybrid powertrain is claimed to offer a mileage of 27.97kmpl.
The SUV can also be had with a 103bhp, 1.5L K15C petrol mild hybrid setup, coupled to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. While the mild hybrid manual version delivers a fuel efficiency of 21.11kmpl (2WD) and 19.38kmpl (AWD), the automatic variant offers 20.58kmpl.
In Other Fresh Updates
The Indo-Japanese automaker is ready to roll out two new models – Maurti Fronx compact crossover and Maruti Jimny 5-door lifestyle SUV. While the former will go on sale in coming days, the latter will hit roads in late May 2025. The carmaker is also reported to working on a new 7-seater SUV that will be based on the Maruti Grand Vitara.
