We reported earlier that Maruti Suzuki has started testing the new generation Dzire sub-4 meter sedan, which is scheduled to be launched by mid-2024. The upcoming 2024 Maruti Dzire compact sedan has been spotted again while undergoing winter testing in Himachal Pradesh. The latest spy shots reveal that it will come with segment-first factory-fitted electric sunroof.
It was speculated that the new generation Dzire sub-4 meter sedan will share the features with the upcoming new Swift. However, the new spy image reveals that the 2024 Maruti Dzire will receive an electric sunroof. It is early to comment whether the new Swift hatchback will also receive this feature, as the new model does not get a sunroof in international right-hand-drive markets.
The new-gen Suzuki Dzire is likely to share the interior with the new Baleno and Fronx, and the same is also offered on the new hatchback sibling. It will be equipped with a floating 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a multi-functional steering wheel with mounted cruise control & infotainment buttons, a semi-digital instrument console, an automatic AC, keyless entry and go, etc. The new-gen Dzire is also likely to receive a 360-degree camera. It is expected to receive a lighter dual-tone paint scheme with brushed aluminium and faux wood touches.
The spy images reveal that the 2024 Maruti Dzire will look identical to the new Swift, except for the rear. The sedan has a flatter roofline and a new rear glass. The sedan will have a different large grille, a clamshell bonnet, new bumper with prominent cuts & creases, and new 5-spoke alloy wheels. It will have new pillars and doors, new rear bumper and revised tail-lights.
The new-gen Dzire will be powered by a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine that also powers the new Swift. This engine is capable of producing 82bhp and 108Nm of torque, and it also supports a mild-hybrid system. Transmission options likely to include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. It will also receive a CNG version.
