Maruti Suzuki Swift, one of the top-selling cars from the Indo-Japanese automaker, is ready to enter into its new generation next year. If reports are to be believed, the hatchback’s new model might have its world premiere towards the end of 2022. Its India debut could take place at the 2023 Auto Expo, followed by its market launch. The company has begin testing of the new 2023 Maruti Swift (Suzuki Swift) in Japan and its first spy images reveal some interesting details.
The spotted test mule was heavily camouflaged covering most of its design changes. Though, one can notice its newly-designed front grille and sleeker headlamps with new LED elements. The front bumper, featuring wider and lower air intake, has also been revised.
There are new C-shaped air splitters with fog lamp clusters. The hatchback has new body panels along with the newly-designed, larger alloy wheels in dual-tone finish. Some of its other design highlights include blacked-out pillars, pronounced wheel arches with faux air vents and a roof-mounted spoiler. The new 2023 Maruti Swift will be designed on the modified version of the Heartect platform. Interior details of the hatchback’s new-gen model are still under the wraps. Though, it’s likely to come with a host of new features while retaining the existing cabin layout. Its dashboard could also be revised.
Speculations are on rife that the new Maruti Swift 2023 will come with the mild hybrid technology. At present, the model lineup is available with a 1.2L K12N Dualjet petrol engine that’s good for 89bhp and 113Nm. Both manual and AMT gearboxes are on offer.
This time around, the company also introduce the Swift CNG version. Globally, the Suzuki Swift Sport comes with a 1.4L Boosterjet turbo petrol motor that makes power worth 128bhp and 230Nm of torque.
