Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the updated XL6 and the Ertiga facelift in the country. The updated models will be launched by April 21, 2022. The 2022 Maruti XL6 & Ertiga facelifts will receive cosmetic design and upgraded cabin along with big mechanical updates.
It is reported that the 2022 Maruti XL6 and Ertiga facelifts will receive a new 1.5-litre petrol engine. Both 3-row UVs will get a new 1.5-litre K15C dualjet petrol engine. The new dualjet engine will replace the outgoing K15B engine. The new motor will also power the future Maruti models.
The report claims that the new 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine will produce 115bhp of power that’s 10bhp more than the K15B unit. A 5-speed manual gearbox driving the power to the front wheels will come as standard. Instead of a 4-speed torque convertor, the new petrol engine will be paired to a new 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
The new K15C Dualjet engine was first introduced on the Vitara SUV. However, this engine is mated to a hybrid motor that offers 33bhp extra power. For the Ertiga & the XL6 facelifts, the 1.5L Dualjet engine will get a mild-hybrid system. It will come with integrated starter generator and auto-start stop system.
The 2022 Maruti XL6 facelift is likely to come with few design changes in the form of new front grille, revised bumper & rear bumper, new LED lighting system and others. Inside the cabin, the MPV could get a new seat upholstery, a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charging, automatic AC, and redesigned aircon vents. It could also get a 360 degree camera and up to six airbags. The new XL6 could also receive an optional 7-seater version.
The new Ertiga will be sold through Maruti Suzuki’s ARENA dealership network. It won’t receive significant design changes; however, MSIL could make updates inside the cabin. The 2022 XL6 facelift will continue to be sold through NEXA premium dealership network.
