2022 Maruti Ertiga Launch In March – 5 Key Details We Know So Far

The Indo-Japanese automaker has planned a range of new models for this year. While the Maruti Celerio CNG has already rolled out in the market, the next launch will be the updated Baleno hatchback. The latter is due for the third week of February. After the new Baleno, the company will bring in the updated Ertiga MPV with minor cosmetic changes and feature upgrades along with a new automatic gearbox. Here’re key details of the new 2022 Maruti Ertiga facelift that we know so far.

– Upfront, the MPV’s new model will carry a newly-designed grille that will be similar to the updated Baleno. No other changes will be made to the vehicle. Design elements such as headlamps, front and rear bumpers, alloy wheels and taillamps will be carried forward from the existing version.

– Interior of the new 2022 Maruti Ertiga facelift will be revised with new trims, upholstery and colours. It will continue to offer the SmartPlay infotainment system supporting Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and navigation, leather wrapped steering wheel, rear parking camera, automatic climate control, 12V charging ports in all three rows, push button start/stop, height adjustable driver’s seat and electronically adjustable and folding wing mirrors.

– For the safety provision, the new Ertiga will have electronic stability program, hill hold function, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Isofix child seat mounts, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, central locking and speed sensitive door locks.

– Mechanically, the new 2022 Maruti Ertiga facelift will remain unchanged. It will continue to come with the tried and tested 1.5L petrol engine with mild hybrid technology. The motor delivers a claimed power of 105bhp and 138Nm of torque.

– One of the biggest updates will come in the form of a new 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, sourced from the Suzuki Vitara SUV. With this update, the MPV will comply with the CAFÉ 2 norms that will be enforced from April 2022. A 5-speed manual transmission will also be on offer.
