The 2022 Maruti Baleno is reportedly to be launched in the end of February 2022. It will come with significantly revised design, all-new interior with several segment-leading features and few mechanical changes. The new model will be positioned against the Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and the Tata Altroz.
2022 Maruti Baleno Key Changes & Updates
New Infotainment System – it is reported that the 2022 Maruti Baleno will come with a larger, free-standing touchscreen with an all-new interface. The new system is jointly developed by Suzuki and Toyota, and the Baleno islikely to be the first car to come with this unit.
Connected Car Tech – the new touchscreen inoftainment system will have different versions, and some could come with connected car technology. The company is also working on multiple connected features for the Indian consumers.
Wireless Connectivity – the new Baleno’s infotainment system will be compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Moreover, the hatchback will also offer wireless charging system.
HUD (Heads-Up Display) – interestingly, the 2022 Maruti Baleno is likely to come with a heads-up display (HUD). This system will give fair amount of information to the driver. It will also improve active safety as the HUD will allow drivers to keep their eyes on the road.
Six Airbags – the new Baleno will come with dual airbags as standard. The top-spec model could get up to six airbags – driver & co-occupant airbags, curtain bags for front and rear passengers. The top-spec models could also receive Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
Stronger Body – the report claims that Maruti Suzuki will increase the thickness of the steel used in the outer body panels and on the chassis.
AMT Gearbox – the company is likely to remove the CVT gearbox from the Baleno line-up. It is expected to get a Swift-like single clutch automatic or AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). This is likely to make the Baleno automatic variant cheaper by around Rs 60,000.
New Interior – the new model will come with all-new dashbord that has a new floating central console. The central console will be dominated by a new free-standing touchscreen on top and a pair of vents below. The buttons for the AC vents will move further below. It will have a revised infotainment system, a sporty flat bottom steering wheel, etc.
