Mahindra & Mahindra has a handful of new models, which are scheduled to arrive in the next couple of years. Talking about 2022, the home-grown will bring in four new SUV including the e-KUV100, updated Bolero and XUV300 and the next-generation Scorpio. Here’s a brief on the upcoming Mahindra SUVs.
Mahindra e-KUV100
Previewed at the 2022 Auto Expo, the Mahindra e-KUV100 is reported to hit roads in early 2022. However, there is no official word on its launch timeline yet. The electric SUV is estimated to cost below Rs 10 lakh, thus making it the most affordable EV in the country. It will come with a 15.9kWh battery pack powering an electric motor that’s good for 54.4bhp and 120Nm. The e-KUV100 will offer a range of up to 150km. Though, the company might introduce it with bigger battery capacity offering longer range.
Updated Mahindra Bolero
The 2022 Mahindra Bolero is likely to launch in the coming months. This time around, the SUV will be offered with new monotone and dual-tone colour schemes. It might get a new Red colour with contrast dual-tone treatment. Currently, the Bolero model lineup comes in Mist Silver, Lakeside Brown and Diamond White paint schemes. No changes will be made to its design and interior. In fact, the 2022 Mahindra Bolero will continue to come with the 75bhp, 210Nm, 1.5L mHawk diesel engine paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
Updated Mahindra XUV300
If reports are to be believed, the home-grown automaker will give a mid-life update to its popular XUV300 compact SUV. The model will witness significant changes inside and out along with a more powerful engine. The new 2022 Mahindra XUV300 could be offered with a 1.2L T-GDI petrol engine delivering 130bhp against 230Nm, thus making it the most powerful car in its category. The existing 109bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol and 115bhp, 1.5L CRDi diesel engines will also be on offer. It might get all-black interior, new seat upholstery, updated infotainment unit and rear AC vents.
New-Gen Mahindra Scorpio
The much-awaited new-generation Mahindra Scoprio will hit showrooms towards the end of this year. Major changes will be made to its design, dimensions and interior along with the engine setup. Compared to the existing version, the new model will be more powerful with 130bhp/160bhp, 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol and 155bhp, 2.2L turbo diesel engines. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer. Rumour has it that the SUV’s new model could be named ‘Mahindra Scorpio Sting’ or ‘Mahindra ScorpioN’.
