2022 Maruti Ertiga Front Design Revealed Ahead of Launch In March

The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga facelift will be the third big launch from the Indo-Japanese automaker this year. The new model was recently caught on camera ahead of its launch in March 2022. The latest spy video shows its slightly updated front featuring a newly-designed grille that seems borrowed from the new Baleno. The latter is ready to hit roads in the third week of February. The 2022 Maruti Ertiga will continue to feature the same headlamp clusters, front and rear bumpers, alloy wheels and taillamps.

Inside, the new Ertiga facelift might get new trims and upholstery. No changes are likely to be made to its feature list. The MPV will continue to come equipped with the SmartPlay infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay connectivity and navigation support, height adjustable driver’s seat, leather wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control, rear parking camera, 12V charging ports in all three rows, electronically adjustable and folding wing mirrors and push button start/stop.

Under the hood, the new 2022 Maruti Ertiga facelift will feature the same 1.5L petrol engine boosted with mild hybrid technology. It returns a peak power of 105bhp and 138Nm of torque. Interestingly, the MPV will ditch the existing 4-speed automatic gearbox for a new 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmission. The new gearbox, which will be sourced from the global-spec Suzuki Vitara SUV, will help the vehicle meet the CAFÉ 2 standards.

The CAFÉ 2 (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) norms will be implemented in April 2022. According to the new regulations, the automakers will have to reduce average carbon emissions of their entire product range to 113g/km. Compared to the existing automatic version, the new 2022 Maruti Ertiga facelift with a 6-speed automatic transmission will be slightly more expensive. The new automatic variants will come with a sport mode, added ratios and the optional manual shift, thus enhancing its shift responses and timings.
