Maruti Suzuki will announce prices of the new-generation Celerio hatchback today (10th November 2021). Deliveries of the model will begin soon after its price announcement. Official bookings for the new 2022 Maruti Celerio were commenced last week at a token sum of Rs 11,000. The automaker claims that the new Celerio is the most fuel efficient petrol car in the country. It will come with the new 1.0L K10C K-Series Dualjet, dual VVT (variable valve timing) petrol engine and 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. The new petrol motor will be more powerful and frugal than the existing 1.0L gasoline unit that’s good enough for 67bhp. Official power and torque figures of the new Dualjet engine will be revealed tomorrow. The new Maruti Celerio 2022 will be the first vehicle in its segment to feature Idle Start-Stop technology that makes it India’s most fuel economical petrol car. Reports suggest that the hatchback will promise a mileage of around 26kmpl.
The new 2022 Maruti Celerio will be made available in 4 trims (LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+) and 7 variants. Buyers will have 6 colour options to choose from – Silky Silver, Solid Fire Red, Arctic White, Caffeine Brown, Glistening Grey and Speedy Blue. With the generation change, the Celerio will switch to the Heartect platform that will make it more robust and rigid than before. The automaker will equip the Maruti Celerio 2022 with a bunch of new goodies including a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system, newly-designed AC vents and new centre console. Compared to the current generation, the new 2022 Maruti Celerio will be bigger and have more cabin space to offer. Ditching the signature tall stance, the hatchback appears more angular (especially the front end). Multiple cosmetic updates will make it look more refreshing than the existing model.
The current generation Celerio comes in the price range of Rs 4.65 lakh – Rs 6.00 lakh (all, ex-showroom). The new model is likely to witness a minor price hike of around Rs 50,000 – Rs 60,000. Official prices will be revealed tomorrow. Stay tuned to IndiaCarNews.
