The 2022 Maruti Celerio hatchback is scheduled to be launched in the first half of November 2021. The new model has already been spotted numerous times, revealing most of the design and interior details. This time, the base variant of the new Celerio has been spotted by an instagram user – automobile_india1.
The base variant of the 2022 Maruti Celerio is finished in Arctic White colour, which is also available in the existing model. It is expected that the new model will also come with some additional colour options.
The vehicle comes with all-new styling with new front grille, headlamps and bumpers. There is a chrome bar that runs across the mesh grille and connects the headlamps. The spy images confirm that the new model will be significantly bigger than the existing model, which should help Maruti to liberate more space inside the cabin.
The 2022 Maruti Celerio will be based on the Suzuki’s lightweight HEARTECT platform, which also underpins the new WagonR and the S-Presso. The new model comes with body coloured ORVMs, larger window area, new alloys wheels, and new tail-lights. The cabin of the base variant is likely to get a new Bluetooth entertainment system. The spotted model has analogue instrument console, new steering wheel without any controls, silver accent around the central console and the gearbox surround. The spotted model has manual air-conditioning system.
The top-spec variant will come with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. It is also likely to get a multi-functional steering wheel, automatic AC, height adjustable driver seat, etc.
If reports are to be believed, the 2022 Maruti Celerio will receive a new 1.0-litre K10C, 3-cylinder Dualjet petrol engine. This engine features a modified exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), higher compression ratio and dual injectors placed closer to the inlet. It is likely to offer segment-best fuel efficiency of around 26kmpl. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT.
