2021 Maruti Celerio – New Dualjet Engine, Class-Leading Mileage

Maruti Suzuki India is ready to launch the second-generation Celerio hatchback on 10th November 2021 (i.e. just after Diwali). The model will come with more angular design, bigger body built and up-market interior. It will also be better in term of power and performance. The 2021 Maruti Celerio will be made available with a new 1.0L K10C, 3-cylinder Dualjet petrol engine. It’s the same powertrain that does duty in the several global Suzuki cars. Suzuki’s 1.0L Dualjet motor features a modified exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), higher compression ratio and dual injectors placed closer to the inlet valves. These technologies help increase fuel efficiency of the vehicle. The report further claims that the new Maruti Celerio 2021 with the Dualjet motor will deliver the best-in-class fuel efficiency of around 26kmpl. Its arch rivals – Tata Tiago AMT and Hyundai Grand i10 – deliver a mileage of 23.84kmpl and 18.9kmpl respectively.

The 2021 Maruti Celerio model lineup will drop the existing 1.2L petrol engine that makes 69bhp. The hatchback’s new 1.0L Dualjet motor will be available with both 5-speed manual and AMT automatic gearboxes. One of the major changes will be made to its underpinning. The new Celerio will be designed on Suzuki’s Heartect platform that will make it lighter and more rigid than the current generation. The hatchback will get bigger; however, its dimension figures are yet to be revealed. Read – Suzuki To Reveal New Swift, WagonR, Vitara & Alto In 2022

As mentioned above, the new Maruti Celerio 2021 will carry angular design bits instead of the squarish and tall stance. Some of its key features will include a flattish-oval grille with honeycomb pattern, triangular headlamps connected via a chrome strip, new fog lamp assembly, a more upright nose, tweaked front bumper with contrast black bits, long tapering roofline and extended glasshouse and wheelbase.

More details on the new-generation Celerio will be revealed in coming weeks. Stay tuned to IndiaCarNews.
