Toyota Glanza was the first rebadged Maruti Suzuki model from the Japanese automaker in the country. Launched in June 2019, the hatchback model lineup comes in two trims G and V, packed with Suzuki’s 1.2L K12N Dualjet mild-hybrid powertrain and 1.2L K12B petrol engine. Now, the company is planning to give a mid-life update to the Glanza in early 2022. Just so you know, Toyota’s premium hatchback is based on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno that will receive a facelift in the first half of the next year.
As of now, details of the updated model are not available. Though, the 2022 Toyota Glanza facelift is likely to witness a few cosmetic and feature upgrades, while its engine setup will remain unchanged. We expect it to come with the updated touchscreen infotainment system along with some extra goodies. Minor changes are likely to be made at its front end. As mentioned above, the hatchback will continue to come with the 1.2L K12B and 1.2L K12 Dualjet with mild hybrid engine options. The former makes power worth 83bhp with 113Nm of torque, the latter is good enough for 90bhp and 113Nm.
Transmission choices will include the same 5-speed manual and CVT automatic units. The Glanza K12B petrol manual returns a claimed fuel economy of 21.01kmpl, and its K12C Smart Hybrid model offers 23.83kmpl with manual and 19.56kmpl with automatic transmission. At present, prices of Toyota’s premium hatchback fall in the range of Rs 7.49 lakh – Rs 9.45 lakh. The model lineup includes two automatic variants – G CVT and V CVT – priced at Rs 8.69 lakh and Rs 9.45 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. The 2022 Toyota Glanza facelift might witness a minor price hike.
