Maruti Suzuki aims to expand its SUV product portfolio with a range of new models along with updating its existing models. While the Baleno, Ciaz, Ertiga and XL6 are ready to receive a mid-life update, the Alto, Swift and Vitara Brezza will enter into their next-generation. All these models will arrive in the next couple of years. The company will kick start the New Year (2022) with the launch of the updated Maruti XL6 and the new-generation Vitara Brezza. Reports suggest that the latter one will drop the prefix ‘Vitara’ from its nameplate and will be called new 2022 Maruti Brezza.
The new 2022 Maruti Brezza will take a big leap in terms of design, features and performance. While there is no official information on the new model, the spy images revealed a few key features of the compact SUV. It’s likely to receive 10 major updates, which are listed below.
New 2022 Maruti Brezza Features (Expected)
Factory-fitted Sunroof

360 Degree Camera
Similar to its arch rival – Kia Sonet, the new Brezza might be offered with a 360 degree camera. It provides the driver a real-time view of the car’s surroundings.
Bigger Touchscreen Infotainment
The spy images reveal that the SUV’s new-generation model will have a free-standing, larger touchscreen infotainment system. The current model comes with a 7.0-inch touchscreen unit supporting Android Auto and voice commands. It’s available only on the ZXi and ZXi+ trims.
Wireless Smartphone Connectivity

New Instrument Cluster
There will be a new instrument cluster that’s likely to be a digital unit as we have seen on the Ciaz sedan.
Wireless Charging
Rumour has it that the new Maruti Brezza 2022 could be made available with the wireless charging pad.
Connected Car Tech
The automaker might equip its new Brezza with the advanced connected car technology along with the remote engine start/stop, headlamp control and climate control.
Paddle Shifters
The automatic variants of the new Maruti Brezza 2022 will have paddle shifters. As of now, the Kia Sonet is the only subcompact SUV in India to offer this feature.
Better Safety
The new 2022 Maruti Brezza is likely to come with more standard safety fitments. At present, its standard safety kit includes dual front airbags , rear parking sensors, front seatbelt pretensions, ABS with EBD, remote central locking and Isofix child seat mounts.
Stronger Hybrid Tech
If reports are to be believed, the existing 12V mild hybrid technology could be replaced with the stronger 48V hybrid system. It will make the 2022 Brezza more fuel efficient than the existing one. The new-generation model will continue to feature the 1.5L, 4-cylinder K15B petrol engine that’s good for 103bhp and 138Nm. Transmission options on offer will include a 5-speed manual and a4-speed torque convertor automatic unit.
