2022 Maruti Baleno Facelift Spied; New Details Emerge

Maruti Suzuki is readying a wide range of new cars for the Indian market. Besides introducing new models, MSIL will give a mid-life facelift to its popular Baleno hatchback. In fact, the 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift has been spotted testing for the first time. The spotted model was fully covered in a thick cloth, revealing limited details.

Last year, Maruti Suzuki Baleno was caught testing in India. It was reportedly to be the hybrid version of the hatchback. While previous sightings did not reveal much, the new model with heavy covers suggest that the Baleno facelift will receive some major upgrades.

Only the rear three quarter and rear profile of the 2022 Maruti Baleno are visible in the spied images. These images reveal that the upgraded model will come with restyled tail-lamps. The stop lights are updated, and the similar changes are expected to the headlamp unit as well. The vehicle gets re-styled bumper.

The spotted model has slightly revised rear spoiler. In fact, the 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift gets differently styled wheels. The wheels look similar to the early models of the new Baleno hatchback. The side profile looks largely identical to the current car. The boot lid has a rear wiper and chrome bar, which we have already seen on the current model.

The front design of the new Baleno facelift is also expected to receive some changes. It is expected to get a more prominent grille, a revised headlamp unit, and new bumper with revised fog lamp assembly. Interior of the new Baleno is also expected to get some changes inside the cabin as well. The vehicle could get an upgraded infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and new upholstery.

It is expected that Maruti Suzuki could bring back the Baleno RS to rival the Tata Altroz iTurbo and the soon-to-be-launched Hyundai i20 N Line. The regular model is most likely to retain the existing engine options – a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and a 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol with SHVS mild hybrid system.
