2022 Maruti Baleno Facelift Ready For Launch; 1st Teaser Released

Maruti Suzuki India is all set to launch the updated Baleno hatchback in coming weeks. Ahead of its official arrival, the first teaser image of the hatchback has been leaked on the web. The image shows the black front grille and illuminated headlamps, DRLs and fog lamp assembly. Production of the new 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift is already underway at the company’s Gujarat based plant. This time around, the premium hatchback will receive significant changes in terms of design and features. Its engine setup, however, will remain unchanged. The new model will continue to come with the 83bhp, 1.2L petrol and 90bhp, 1.2L petrol with 12V mild hybrid technology powertrain options. The manual gearbox will continue to be carried forward from the current model. Reports suggest that the new Maruti Baleno 2022 could be offered with the AMT gearbox, borrowed from the Swift, instead of the CVT automatic unit.

2022 Maruti Baleno Bookings

Inside, the new 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift will have a newly-designed dashboard along with an updated free-standing infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The hatchback might also be offered with the Heads-Up-Display (HUD) and connected car tech. The AC vents are now positioned horizontally. Safety features such as six airbags and electronic stability program (ESP) could be reserved for higher trims.

As mentioned above, a few noticeable changes will be made to its exterior. The new 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift will feature a new bigger front grille, L-shaped wraparound projector headlamps with LED DRLs and a slightly revised bonnet. Other cosmetic updates will include revised front and rear fenders, new L-shaped taillamps and redesigned front and rear bumpers. The new model will be wider than the existing one. Though, its dimension figures are yet to be revealed. It will come in four new colour options, namely, Celestial Blue, Splendid Silver, Opulent Red and Grandeur Grey.
