Mahindra & Mahindra is ready to give an update to its popular Bolero SUV this month (i.e. January 2022). The SUV is likely to receive minor cosmetic changes in the form of dual-tone exterior shades and new monotone colour schemes. Reports suggest that the company will introduce a new Red paint with contrast dual-tone treatment. At present, the Bolero is available in three different colours – Lakeside Brown, Mist Silver and Diamond White. In order to improve its safety quotient, the automaker will equip the new Bolero with dual airbags (driver’s and co-passenger). It will continue to come with the standard rear parking sensors, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and speed alert. The SUV might also get the slightly tweaked dashboard along with the new upholstery. Features such as a semi digital instrument console, manual AC unit, keyless entry, Bluetooth enabled audio system with USB & AUX connectivity and keyless entry will continue to be on offer.
Under the hood, the new 2022 Mahindra Bolero facelift will feature the same 1.5L, 3-cylinder mHawk diesel engine that does duty to the current model. The oil burner pushes out a peak power of 75bhp and a maximum torque of 210Nm. Transmitting power to the rear wheels will be a 5-speed manual gearbox. It will continue to come with the 2WD system.
With minor updates, the new Mahindra Bolero 2022 is likely to witness a price hike of around Rs 40,000 – Rs 50,000. Currently, the SUV model lineup is available in the price range of Rs 8.71 lakh – Rs 9.70 lakh (all, ex-showroom). In other updates, the home-grown automaker will roll out the second-generation Mahindra Scorpio in the first quarter of 2022. The SUV will receive comprehensive updates inside and out along with a more powerful set of engines.
