The 11th-generation Honda Civic sedan is ready to make global debut on 28th April 2021. Ahead of its official unveiling, the new model has been caught on camera standing in a parking lot. China will be the first to witness the 2022 Honda Civic launch, followed by the Japan and United States. The sedan was discontinued in India last year and the carmaker has no plan to bring in its new-generation model here.
Globally, the new Civic is reported to be offered in four trims – LX, Sport, EX and Touring. There will be two new colour schemes – Meteorite Gray and Morning Mist – along with the standard Platinum White Pearl, Aegean Blue, Lunar Silver, Black Pearl and Sonic Gray. The sedan will come with Black and Gray interior theme options. Compared to the outgoing model, the new Honda Civic looks sportier and more evolved.
Major cosmetic upgrades have been made at the front end. The new Honda Civic 2022 carries a newly-designed grille, wider central air intakes and new headlamps and fog lamps. Moving to the sides, the sedan gets a new set of alloy wheels along with blacked out door handles, side wing mirrors, pillars and window linings. The rear section has been updated with new boomerang-shaped LED taillamps and black plastic cladding on the bumper. Check Out – New Honda HR-V With Mugen Upgrades Look Aggressive
Interior changes are likely to be inspired by the new Honda Accord. The 2022 Honda Civic will feature a large floating touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support and Honda Connect. Other key updates will include a newly-designed dashboard, wireless charging, multifunction steering wheel, ventilated front seats, multiple upholstery options and more. There will be an upgraded suite of Honda Sensing safety and driver assistance technologies.
The new Honda Civic 2022 is reported to come with two petrol engines – 1.5L VTEC turbo and 2.0L. While the former will be offered on lower trims, the latter will be reserved for the higher variants. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer.
