2021 Kia Sonet Changes Revealed In A New Video

Kia Sonet will soon receive a few major upgrades in the country. In fact, the updated model has already been shipped to dealerships across the country. The 2021 Kia Sonet model lineup will mark debut of the brand’s new logo along with addition of four new variants – HTX iMT petrol, HTX DCT petrol, HTX MT diesel and HTX AT diesel. The dual-tone alloy wheels and traction control will come as standard features on the HTX trim. The HTX+ trim will be offered with integrated rear curtains.

The new HTX DCT petrol variant will get electronic stability control, multi driver modes, vehicle stability management, hill assist control and brake assist. The new Kia Sonet GTX (O) turbo manual variant will be exclusively offered with a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. The new HTX DCT petrol variant will sit between the HTK+ and GTX+ trims. The new HTX iMT petrol variant will receive a sunroof.

The new GTX (O) turbo variant will use the 1.4L direct injection, turbo petrol unit making 138bhp and 242Nm of torque. It can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The 2021 Kia Sonet will also be available with the existing 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol (83bhp/115Nm) and 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo diesel (100bhp/240Nm) engines. The former comes with the 5-speed manual gearbox (limited to the lower trims) and the latter is available with the 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic gearbox options.

Kia Motors India is ready to launch the Seltos Gravity Edition tomorrow (27th April 2021). The new edition gets cosmetic enhancements over the regular model. The South Korean carmaker is also working on a compact MPV to challenge the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in India. It’s reported to come early next year. The new Kia MPV will be offered with 6 and 7-seats configurations. The model will share its engines, platform, design elements and features with the Seltos SUV.
