The Japanese carmaker recently introduced the 2021 Toyota Innova Crysta and Fortuner facelift in the Indonesian market. Prices of the Fortuner facelift start from IDR 505 million and go up to IDR 704 million (on-road, Jakarta). The SUV has been offered in a total of 8 variants spread across four trims – GM, GA, VRZ and SRZ. While the standard model carries more aggressive design bits, the new 2021 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo appears sportier than before.
Most of the cosmetic changes are visible at the front end. The new Fortuner TRD Sportivo variant features a larger grille with a red strip and TRD badging. The LED headlamps and fog lamps have also been revised. There are dark accents on the front bumper, grille, fog lamps and mirrors along with chrome black backdoor garnishes. The taillamps have new LED detailing. The SUV’s sportier version comes fitted with 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
Inside, the 2021 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo facelift receives a rear seat entertainment system. It also gets a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, powered front seats and an updated 4.2-inch multi-info driver’s display. The list of features also includes connected car technology, anti-glare mirrors, wireless charging, ambient lighting and an activated kick door. In Indonesia, the updated Fortuner TRD Sportivo is powered by a 2.4L diesel motor pushing out power worth 150PS and 400Nm. The standard Fortuner facelift uses a 2.8L oil burner that’s good enough for 204PS and 500Nm.
The India-spec model will come with the BS6 2.8L turbo diesel engine with 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options. The power and torque figures stand at 174bhp and 420Nm (MT) and 450 (AT) respectively. The SUV will continue to come with the RWD (rear-wheel-drive) and 4WD (four-wheel-drive) options.
