2021 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Unveiled With Major Changes

Japanese automaker, Mitsubishi has revealed the newly styled 2021 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, which will go on sale in Australia and New Zealand in November 2020, and in the U.S. in the Q1, 2021. The SUV will also receive a plug-in hybrid variant; however, this model won’t go on sale in the U.S.

The 2021 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross received significant design changes. It adops an evolved version of Mitsubishi’s signature Dynamic Shield design concept. The upper headlight is now smaller and becomes a thin line in LED, while the lights below uses LED projectors. There are no chrome lines, and the front is now finished in black. The bumper has been re-designed with new air intake and a 3-part skid plate.

The rear profile has a redesigned hatch and rear window, which is claimed to offer improved rear visibility as well as distinctive and contemporary styling. The 2021 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross features the three-dimensional tail-lights extend upwards and inwards, and offers a wider look. Inside the cabin, the SUV gets a new black interior with silver accents and light gray leather seats. It features a new 8-inch smartphone-link display audio system, which has been moved closer to the driver and front-seat passenger for ease of use. It also features physical button for volume control. The touchpad that was previously used for multiple functions has been removed to allow for more storage space on the center console.

Powering the crossover is the same, 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine that produces 165bhp of power at 5,500rpm and a peak torque of 250Nm. Power is transmitted to the wheels via an 8-speed CVT automatic gearbox.
