2021 Toyota Fortuner Launch On 6th January – 9 Key Changes

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has confirmed that it will launch the Fortuner facelift on 6th January, 2021. The SUV’s updated model had its world premiere earlier this year. The 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift witnessed noticeable changes inside and out along with a more powerful engine. The India-spec model is likely to receive similar updates. 1. Major cosmetic changes will be made at the front end. The new Fortuner facelift will feature a new, larger mesh-pattern grille, newly-designed LED headlamps with LED DRLs and revised bumper.

2. Ditching the existing set of wheels, the SUV will come with newly-designed 18-inch alloy wheels. Save for the new, slimmer LED taillamps, the rear profile of the new Toyota Fortuner 2021 will remain unchanged.

4. Globally, the SUV gets a slightly revised instrument cluster, a 360 degree camera, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, wireless smartphone charging, 8-way power adjustable driver and co-driver’s seats and LED ambient lighting. The India-spec 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift might be offered with the same new features.

5. The new Toyota Fortuner 2021 is likely to come with the same 2.8L, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. However, the carmaker might offer its updated version (similar to the global model) that’s good enough for 204bhp and 500Nm of torque. In its current form, the oil burner makes 177bhp with 450Nm (AT)/420Nm (MT) of torque.

6. The 2.7L, 4-cylinder petrol engine will also be carried forward from the current model. The gasoline unit delivers a peak power of 166bhp and 245Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer.

7. The Japanese carmaker will also bring in the new 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender in India. It’s a premium version of the SUV featuring smaller grille, sharply designed bi-projector LED headlamps, larger intake, smaller skid plate and differently designed fog lamp housing at the front end. The model also gets larger 20-inch alloys as standard and sequential LED turn indicators.

8. Inside, the new Toyota Fortuner Legender will have a larger 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-tone theme with more premium leather upholstery.

9. The new Toyota Fortuner 2021 might witness a minor price hike. At present, the model lineup comes in the price range of Rs 28.66 lakh – Rs 34.43 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
