Suzuki Motorcycle India has dropped the first teaser video of the upcoming new Hayabusa ahead of its launch. The teaser video’s caption reads “The legend of legends with the ultimate sporting experience on two wheels is coming soon. Stay tuned to experience the thrill like never before”.
While the super sport tourer will arrive in coming weeks, its unofficial bookings have already been commenced across the nation. The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa will come to India via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route and its price is likely to be around Rs 17 lakh – Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom).
The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa sources its power from a 1340cc, 4-cylinder engine featuring lighter new pistons, new connecting rods and tweaked fuel injectors along with some more updates. It’s an Euro-5 complaint motor boosted with ride-by-wire electronic throttle system. Its power and torque out outputs stand at 187.7bhp and 150Nm respectively. Compared to previous model, the new one is slightly less powerful (8bhp) and torqueier (4Nm). Suzuki says that the new model is the “quickest Hayabusa ever” with stronger torque delivery. The super sport tourer has a 6-speed gearbox with two-way quick shifter and an autobilpper. The Hayabusa returns a claimed fuel economy of 18.06kmpl, which is 3.44kmpl less than before.
Similar to the previous model, the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa sits on the twin-spar aluminum frame. Though, it’s 2kg lighter and slightly lower than the old model. The superbike has Showa suspension setup with revised internals, Brembo’s Stylema calipers at the front brakes and Bridgestone’s Battlax S22 tyres.
Some of its key features include a new TFT display placed between the analogue speedometer and tachometer, six ride modes, six axis IMU system, latest version of Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) traction control, hill hold control, launch control, cruise control, anti-wheelie, ABS cornering package, active speed limiter and many more.
