New Suzuki Hayabusa Unofficial Bookings Open; India Launch In H2 2021

The third-generation Suzuki Hayabusa recently made its global debut via official pictures. The super sport tourer will hit European roads by the end of February, followed by other Asian and American markets. According to a fresh media report, the all-new Hayabusa will arrive in India in the second quarter of this year. In fact, select dealers have reported to accepting bookings for the new model. Here, the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa will be imported via CKD kit and is expected to be priced over Rs 17 lakh – Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom).

Powering the new Hayabusa is the same 1340cc, 4-cylinder engine, which now meets the Euro-5 emission standards. The motor receives new connecting rods, lighter new pistons, tweaked fuel injectors and a few more updates. It has also been benefited with ride-by-wire electronic throttle system. The engine is capable to deliver a peak power of 187.7bhp and 150Nm of torque, which is slightly lower than before. However, the company claims that it’s the “quickest Hayabusa ever” with stronger torque delivery.

2021 Suzuki Hayabusa features

The twin-spar aluminum frame has been carried forward from the old model. The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa is 2kgs lighter than before, thanks to its lightweight Euro-5 compliant exhaust. It offers a seat height of 800mm and 120mm of ground clearance, which are slightly lower than on the old model. The company says that the new Hayabusa has Showa suspension setup with revised internals and Bridgestone’s Battlax S22 tyres. One of the biggest changes has been made to its braking system. It gets Brembo’s Stylema calipers at the front end.

Some of its key upgrades include a new six-axis IMU, three levels of engine brake control, ten levels of anti-wheelie control, 10 levels of traction control, three power modes, cornering ABS (anti-lock braking system), cruise control, launch control, hill hold control, a new TFT display in the centre and a new LED headlamp.
