MG Hector, the popular SUV from the South Korean carmaker, is ready to receive its first mid-life update in the country. According to a fresh media report, the company will bring in the new 2021 MG Hector facelift next month (i.e. January). The updated model will witness minor changes inside and out, while the engine setup is likely to be carried forward. At present, the SUV comes with three powertrain options – a 1.5L turbocharged petrol (140bhp), 2.0L diesel (170bhp) and 1.5L petrol with mild hybrid system.

Similar to the existing model, the new one will get a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. The DCT automatic transmission will continue to be reserved for the turbo petrol variants. The latest spy pictures reveal that most of the cosmetic updates will be made at the front end. The new 2021 MG Hector facelift will get a revised grille with horizontal slats positioned between the LED DRLs (daytime running lights).
