MG ZS Mid-Sized SUV (Creta, Seltos Rival) Launch In H1 2021

At the launch of the Gloster full-sized SUV, MG Motors’ officials stated that our next product for India will arrive in the next six months. The company is currently testing the MG ZS SUV on the Indian roads, which was unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. The new ZS mid-sized SUV is most likely to be launched in our market in the first half of 2021, most probably in Q2 (April-June 2021).

MG Motors will launch the petrol derivative of the ZS SUV in the country. The new SUV will be positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the Nissan Kicks. To be positioned below the Hector, the MG ZS is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs 9 lakh to Rs 13 lakh. Also See – MG ZS – 5 Things To Know

MG ZS Specs

MG Motors had introduced the updated ZS SUV in select international markets in July, 2020. The India-spec model is also likely to share the styling changes with the facelifted model. Some of the design highlights include a new hexagonal grille with chrome surround, new bumper and LED headlamps with integrated DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), 17-inch alloy wheels, new rear bumper and new LED signature for the tail-lamps.

The India-spec MG ZS mid-sized SUV will have feature-loaded cabin. In the global markets, the SUV gets a large 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SUV also gets revised piano-style control buttons on the centre console for audio and air-conditioning. The higher-spec models get digital instrument console, 360 degree camera and navigation system. It will also receive MG iSmart connected car technology, panoramic sunroof, air purifier, cruise control, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, multi-functional steering wheel and many more.

MG ZS Interior

The international-spec MG ZS is available with two engine options – a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol. Paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, the naturally-aspirated engine is capable of producing 118bhp and 150Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 1.3L turbo unit is good for 160bhp and 230Nm of torque. The turbocharged engine is available with a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic option.
