2021 MG Hector Facelift – 4 Important Things To Know

Morris Garages started its Indian operations with the Hector SUV that’s paved its path to success within short duration. Now, the company is planning to give it a mid-life updated sometime next year. In fact, the carmaker has already begun testing the facelifted model. We have seen its camouflaged prototype revealing minor design details. Here’re the 4 important things that we know about the 2021 MG Hector facelift so far.

1. Updated Front

The spy pictures confirm that the most of the cosmetic changes will be made to its front end. The updated model will feature a honeycomb grille with glossy black finish. While the black plastic strip on the front bumper will be ditched, the split LED headlamps will be retained. The test mule was spotted with the newly-designed 5-split spoke dual-tone alloy wheels that possibly shod with 18-inch tyres. No changes will be made to its rear end.

2. Improved Interior

Interior details of the new MG Hector 2021 are still under the wraps. Though, the SUV is likely to come with improved material quality and new upholstery. In terms of features, the updated model will continue to offer the 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with latest smartphone connectivity, automatic climate control, connected car technology, powered driver’s seat, ambient lighting, an Infinity sound system and more. 3. Same Engine Setup

No changes are likely to be made under the hood. The 2021 MG Hector facelift might continue to be offered with the 170PS, 2.0L diesel, 140PS 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L petrol with mild hybrid system. Transmissions will also be carried over from the current model – i.e. 6-speed manual (standard) and DCT automatic (turbo-petrol only).

4. Slightly Premium Pricing

MG Hector was introduced at aggressive price of Rs 12.18 lakh – Rs 16.88 lakh. At present, however, it costs between Rs 12.83 lakh – Rs 18.08 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. The new MG Hector 2021 is likely to witness a minor price hike.
