2021 Maruti Swift Facelift Launched; More Power, Mileage, Features

Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2021 Swift facelift in the country at a starting price of Rs 5.73 lakh. The 2021 Maruti Swift facelift is available in 3 trim levels – LXI, VXI and ZXI – and in total of 9 variants.

Design Changes

The Swift facelift shares some of the design cues from the Japanese-spec Swift facelift, which was launched in 2020. It comes with a more prominent fromt fascia, featuring a new honeycomb mesh grille with a chrome slat at its centre instead of the horizontal slat in the previous model. The hatchback gets revised headlamp set-up and front bumper. However, the fog lamp housings seems identical to the previous car. The hatchback also gets a dual-tone colour option with a contrasting glass black roof. It also gets new alloy wheels, which looks similar to the international-spec model. At the back, the hatchback gets revised bumper.

Inside the cabin, the Swift facelift looks largely identical to the previous model. However, it gets new silver finish on the centre console, steering mounted controls and instrument console. The hatch gets updated digital instrument console with a bigger MID. It sports a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Powertrain & Mileage

The biggest change is made under the hood. It gets a new 1.2-litre Dual-Jet naturally-aspirated K12N engine that also powers the Dzire. This engine is capable of producing 89bhp of power and 113Nm of torque. It replaces the 1.2L K12M NA engine that offers 82bhp and 113Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.

The 1.2L Dual-Jet engine comes with Idle Start-Stop system to offer better fuel economy. It is claimed to return 23.20kmpl with manual gearbox and 23.76kmpl with AMT. The hatchback also gets cruise control, ESP with hill hold assist, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensor with camera and others.
