Earlier this year, the Japanese carmaker rolled out the Suzuki Swift facelift in the Japanese market. Now, the facelifted model has been introduced in the UK with subtle updates and only hybrid engine option. The new Swift will also make its way to India with slightly different changes. Its official launch timeline is yet to be announced by the carmaker. If reports are to be believed, the hatchback’s facelift model might hit roads during this festive season. 1. Minor Design Changes
Similar to the Japan-spec version, the India-bound 2021 Maruti Swift will receive subtle cosmetic upgrades, especially at the front end. The hatchback will feature a new grille with honeycomb-mesh pattern and chrome trim, revised bumper and slightly reshaped LED headlamps. The model might also get newly-designed alloy wheels with dual-tone finishes.
2. A Few New Features
Minimal changes are likely to be made inside the cabin. There might be minor changes in the dashboard design and trim. The updated Swift is likely to come with new seat fabrics, upholstery and headliners as we have seen in the Japan-spec model. 3. Updated Engine
In the UK, the 2021 Suzuki Swift facelift is offered with the updated version of the 1.2L naturally aspirated engine. The motor comes with a newly-designed dual injection system, electronic variable valve timing, a variable displacement oil pump and electric piston cooling jets. The carmaker has also updated the 12V mild hybrid system with a 3X capacity of battery. It makes a top power of 82bhp with 108Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a manual (standard) and a CVT automatic (optional) unit.
In India, the 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift will be made available with a 1.2L Dualjet petrol motor generating 91PS with 118Nm. Compared to the existing engine, it will be more powerful, torqueier and frugal. Both manual and AMT gearboxes will be on offer.
4. More Mileage

5. Expected Price
In the UK, the new Suzuki Swift model lineup has received a new entry-level SZ-L trim that’s priced at £14,749 and the top-end SZ-5 CVT variant is available at £18,749. In India, the hatchback’s existing model costs between Rs 5.19 lakh – Rs 8.02 lakh (ex-showroom). With a few cosmetic and feature updates and a new Dualjet engine, the 2021 Maruti Swift facelift is likely to witnessed minor price hike.
