The Suzuki Swift facelift receives new grille design, new alloy wheels and revised instrument console.

Japanese automaker has officially unveiled the pictures and details of the new Suzuki Swift Facelift. The updated model receives limited design changes, which will also be offered on the India-spec model. The India-spec Maruti Swift facelift is likely to be introduced during festive season, Diwali.

Swift Facelift Details

While design changes are limited to cosmetics, the major upgrades are made to the safety and technology front. The Japanese-spec Suzuki Swift facelift comes equipped with a host of active safety features, which are normally offered with relatively expensive cars. Called the Suzuki Safety Support, the new safety tech includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and lane-keeping assist. The hatchback also gets traffic sign recognition and automatic headlamps.

The interior of the Suzuki Swift facelift looks largely identical to the current model. The dashboard design, central console and door panels remain the same. It now has new upholstery for seats. Adding to it, the instrument console has also been updated with multi-coloured MID (multi-information display). The outgoing car has basic, digital MID.

Exterior changes include revised grille with new diamond or honeycomb pattern. There is a horizontal chrome strip that runs across the grille. The 2020 Suzuki Swift facelift also gets newly styled alloy wheels. It also gets new Orange and Yellow exterior paint scheme for the Japanese market.

Swift Facelift Revealed

The Japanese-spec Swift facelift gets the same 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 91PS and 118Nm of torque. It is claimed to return 20kmpl with a CVT and 21.8kmpl with a 5MT. The hybrid model has an AMT unit and is claimed to return up to 28.6kmpl. The India-spec model could also receive the 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine with idle start-stop technology. This engine also powers the Dzire facelift, offering 89bhp and 113Nm of torque. The regular model will continue to feature the 1.2L K-Series engine producing 82bhp and 114Nm of torque. Both manual and AMT versions will be on offer.
