Mahindra & Mahindra has been extensively testing the new-generation XUV500 and Scorpio SUVs for a while. In fact, the carmaker is ready to give a power boost and feature/colour upgrades to the newly-launched Mahindra Thar. And all these three new models were recently spotted testing together in Manali. While the 2021 Mahindra XUV500 is reported to hit showrooms in April, the new Scorpio will arrive before June 2021. Launch and other details of the 2021 Mahindra Thar are yet to be revealed.
Talking about the New Mahindra XUV500, the SUV will make debut of the brand’s new logo and 190bhp, 2.0L turbo mStallion petrol engine. The model will also be available with a 2.2L turbo diesel engine that will be tuned for generating power worth 180bhp. Both 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic gearboxes will be on offer. In terms of features, the 2021 Mahindra XUV500 will provide some advanced technologies including ASAD, radar technology, 3D panoramic vision, Mercedes-like instrument console and more.

The 2021 Mahindra Scorpio will also take a leap in terms of design, features and performance. The SUV will be offered with the new 2.0L turbo mStallion petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engines making 150bhp with 320Nm and 158bhp respectively. It can be had with either manual or automatic gearboxes. The carmaker recently trademarked the ‘Mahindra ScorpioN’ nameplate that could be used for the more powerful variant of the SUV. Significant changes will also be made to its exterior and interior.
The 2021 Mahindra Thar is likely to receive a new removable hard-top variant, new colour options and a more powerful engine. The off-road SUV is reported to get a new 180 mStallion Pro turbocharged petrol motor that will be more powerful and faster than the 150bhp, 2.0L gasoline unit. The carmaker might also introduce a new Olive, White and Silver shades to the model lineup.
