2021 Mahindra XUV500 Interior, Exterior Details In A New Spy Video

The new-generation Mahindra XUV500 will be the next big launch from the home-grown carmaker in the country. The SUV’s new model is reported to hit showrooms near around April, 2021. A latest spy video shows the exterior and interior of a heavily camouflaged test mule of the 2021 Mahindra XUV500. You can notice the Mercedes-like touchscreen infotainment system, segment’s largest full screen MID and Tesla type door handles.

The SUV will also receive a new flat-bottom steering wheel, chrome-lined AC vents, a large centre armrest upfront and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold. One of its major interior highlights will be the radar-based ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) that might include assistance features such as autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, frontal-collision warning and more.

Reports suggest that the 2021 Mahindra XUV500 will come with an eyelid tracking mechanism and a 3D panoramic vision for driver. The SUV might also receive connected car technology, ventilated seats, wireless charging, powered front seats, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, cruise control, LED lighting system, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs and many more goodies.

Compared to the current generation, the new one will be slightly bigger and more premium. The more upright new grille, C-shaped headlamps with DRLs and rides on the bonnet will give it a more aggressive front fascia. On the sides, the new Mahindra XUV500 2021 will get flap-type door handles instead of the side-hinged units. The horizontal lines at the rear make it look wider than before.  To be built on a stiffer monocoque platform, the 2021 Mahindra XUV500 will come with two new engines – 190bhp, 2.0L direct-injection turbo petrol and 185bhp, 2.2L mHawk diesel. The SUV model lineup will be made available with two gearboxes – 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic sourced from Aisin.
