2021 Kia Sonet – New Variants, New Logo, More Features

Kia Motor India is all set to give an update to its highly popular Sonet subcompact SUV in coming weeks. The model will mark debut of the brand’s new logo, which was unveiled earlier this year. According to leaked information, the 2021 Kia Sonet will receive four new variants – HTX iMT petrol, HTX DCT petrol, HTX MT diesel and HTX AT diesel.

Besides this, the compact SUV’s HTX trim will be benefited with dual-tone alloy wheels and traction control as standard. The HTX DCT petrol will be equipped with multi drive modes, electric stability control, hill assist control, vehicle stability management and brake assist.

In terms of positioning, the 2021 Kia Sonet HTX DCT petrol variant will sit between the HTK+ and GTK+ that cost Rs 8.55 lakh and Rs 12.09 lakh respectively. Price of the new HTX DCT petrol model is likely to be around Rs 11 lakh – Rs 11.50 lakh. The new HTX diesel model will get the automatic transmission, which is currently available on the HTK+ and GTK+.

The South Korean carmaker will also expand the Kia Seltos model lineup with the new HTK+ iMT and GTX (O) turbo manual variants. The latter will sit on the top of the line and get a panoramic sunroof. Its price will be around Rs 17 lakh – Rs 17.50 lakh.

Kia Sonet Specs

 Powering the new GTX (O) turbo variant will be the 1.4L turbocharged, direct injection petrol motor that comes with the 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox options. The engine makes a top power of 138bhp and 242Nm of torque.

On coming 27th April, Kia will launch the Seltos Gravity Edition featuring cosmetic enhancements over the regular model. It will be offered with the existing engine setup that includes 113bhp, 1.5L petrol, 113bhp, 1.5L diesel and 138bhp, 1.4L turbo petrol. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer.
