2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Unveiled With New Platform and Design
The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe is designed and developed on the new third-generation Hyundai Vehicle Platform
Korean automaker, Hyundai has officially released the images of the new Santa Fe. The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe comes with new design, all-new third-generation vehicle platform and new hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The new platform is claimed to improve performance, efficiency and safety. The new Santa Fe will be launched in the European markets in September 2020.
The changes are made to mark the 20th anniversary of Hyundai’s longest-running SUV in Europe. The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe comes with striking front end design, featuring distinctive wide grille shape that merges with large main headlamp unit to form a single entity. The 3D pattern of the grille mesh and unique T-shaped LED daytime running lights gives it a completely new look. The LED DRLs also work as turn indicators.
The newly styled lower bumper has new air intake and robust skid plate. The corners are dominated by vertically oriented aerodynamic inlets that improve air flow efficiency and give it a rugged profile. It features wider wheel arch cladding and newly designed alloys with new 20-inch option. At the back, the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe gets new tail-lamps with horizontally-stretched graphics. There is a red reflector band that connects the taillights. The company is also offering an optional luxury package, which offers a dedicated 20-inch wheel design and body coloured front and rear lower bumpers and side claddings. The standard model gets matte black finish.
The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe cabin features premium soft-touch materials, new lower dashboard design, revised centre console and a new 10.25-inch AVN touchscreen infotainment system. The new floating centre console with shift-by-wire buttons is connected to the crash pad. For the first time, the SUV gets Terrain Mode selector placed on the centre console. It also gets a new 12.3-inch fully digital instrument console.
The new Santa Fe is the first Hyundai in Europe to feature the new ‘Smartstream’ hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain. Details regarding the engines will be released closer to its market launch. The new model is designed and developed on the all-new third-generation Hyundai Vehicle platform. Hyundai claims that the new platform features a system that controls the flow of air and improves air movement through the engine bay and allows heat to dissipate.
