Official bookings of the 2020 Land Rover Defender have been commenced across the nation. Delivers of the vehicle will begin from August, 2020. Priced from Rs 69.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the off-road SUV lineup comes in two different body styles – 3-door (90) and 5-door (110) – and five variants – Base, S, SE, HSE and First Edition. It will lock horns against cars like BMW X5, Prosche Macan, Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90.

Land Rover Defender Specs

Powering the new Defender is a 2.0L, 4-cylinder P300 Ingenium turbo petrol engine producing a peak power of 300PS at 5,500rpm and 400Nm of torque between 1,500rpm – 4,000rpm. The SUV gets an 8-speed automatic transmission and an AWD (all-wheel-drive) system with twin-speed transfer box as standard.

In terms of dimensions, the 2020 Land Rover Defender 90 (3-door version) measures 4,583mm in length, 2,105mm in width and 1,974 mm (coil suspension)/1,969 mm (air suspension) in height. It comes with 5-seats and 6-seats (with a jump seat in the front) layout. The Defender 110 (5-door version, on the other hand, is 5,018mm long, 2,105mm wide and 1,967mm tall. It’s offered with 5-seats and 7-seats configurations.

The India-spec version comes with a host of features including a 360-degree surround camera, 3D surround camera, smartphone pack connected navigation, heated leather steering wheel, centre console with an optional refrigerated compartment, a 10-inch Pivi Pro infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and 380-watt Meridian sound system with 10 speakers plus subwoofer.

Features such as 20-inch alloys with off-road tyres, electronic air suspension (standard on the 5-door trim) and wade sensing function enhance its off-road capabilities.

The off-road 4X4 SUV also gets a sliding panoramic roof, contrasting roof, matrix LED headlamps with signature DRL, six airbags and blind spot assist. The carmaker reveals that the new Land Rover Defender has multiple seating options and accessory packs to choose from.
