Hyundai has recently launched the Venue compact SUV and its first electric car – Kona in the Indian market. The company is now ready to launch an all-new model in our market on August 20, 2019. It is confirmed that the next Hyundai for India will be the new generation Grand i10, which has been spotted multiple times.

Ahead of launch, Hyundai has released a new teaser to confirm the launch date. It also suggests that this is going to be a global launch. For people not in the know, the hatchback is sold as Grand i10 in India and i10 in the European markets. Launched in 2013, the Grand i10 has been one of the best-selling Hyundais in India. The company had launched the facelifted version in 2017. It directly rivals the Maruti Swift and the Ford Figo.

The second generation Hyundai Grand i10 will share the platform with the new Santro. It will grow in size and will offer more space inside the cabin. Thanks to the new platform, the new Grand i10 will be lighter and stronger than the outgoing model. It will be compliant with the upcoming BSVI emission and crash test norms. The 2020 Hyundai Grand i10 retains the tall-boy design. It gets exterior styling updates including new signature grille, new headlamps with LED daytime running lights, re-profiled bumpers and turn indicators. The hatchback also gets revised tail-lamps and new fog lamps. The hatchback will also receive the newly developed alloy wheels.

The next-gen Hyundai Grand i10 will also receive all-new cabin with new colour schemes and upgraded features. The hatchback is already a feature-loaded model, but the new model could receive the brand’s new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink support. The vehicle could also receive the new BlueLink connectivity solution, which was recently introduced in the Hyundai Venue. The hatchback will ride on a longer wheelbase, which should improve the legroom and shoulder space for the rear occupants. The 2020 Hyundai Grand i10 will be offered in petrol and diesel guise. It will get the BSVI compliant 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.2-litre diesel engines. A 5-speed manual gearbox driving the power to the front wheels will come as standard, while an AMT unit could be offered as optional.
