Korean automaker, Hyundai had launched the second generation i10 in 2013. Currently available as the Grand i10, the current model is already 6 years old and is set to receive a new generation model in 2019. The 2019 Hyundai i10 is most likely to make global debut in mid-2019. Hyundai India is also working on the new generation Elite i20, Verna, Grand i10 and Xcent, and Grand i10 would be the first model to receive the new-gen model. The 2019 Hyundai i10 for India might launch in the second half of the next year or early 2020.
For people not in the know, the global i10 is around 100mm shorter than the India-spec Grand i10. In fact, the Grand i10 has 40mm longer wheelbase for better rear occupant space. The model spotted testing on foreign soil looks bigger than the current i10, which suggests that this global car will have standard dimensions for all markets. The new model will adorn Hyundai’s new Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy, which will also be offered on the next Xcent and i20. In terms of mechanics, we believe that the hatchback will have same set of petrol and diesel engines.
