The next-gen Hyundai Grand i10 hatchback is reported to go on sale in August, 2019.
The South Korean carmaker, Hyundai aims to expand its Indian product portfolio with a range of new models in 2019. The first in line is the subcompact SUV based on the Carlino concept, followed by the new-generation Grand i10 hatchback and Kona electric SUV. Besides this, the company will also give a generation change to its highly-popular models including Elite i20 premium hatchback and Xcent compact sedan along with the Verna facelift.
The Hyundai i10 hatchback was first introduced in 2007 and entered into its second-generation in 2013 with the Grand i10 nameplate. The vehicle received a mid-life facelift in 2017 and now the carmaker is ready to introduce its third-generation model boasted with several new feature and design upgrades. The new 2019 Hyundai Grand i10, which is currently in its testing phase, will feature the brand’s new Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy. The comfort and safety quotient will also be classed-up. Set for a generation change, the Hyundai Grand i10 will witness comprehensive aesthetic and feature changes. The carmaker will also improve its comfort and safety levels. The hatchback is likely to get dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, speed belt reminder and a speed alert system as standard fitments. Besides this, the powertrains will also be calibrated to meet BS6 compliance. All these attributes will surely make it expensive than the outgoing model. New 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 Specifications
As mentioned above, the 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 will retain the 1.2L petrol and diesel powertrains from the current model. Hyundai, however, will tune both engines for meeting the upcoming BS6 emission standards. The Kappa VTVT gasoline motor makes a top power of 81.86bhp at 6000rpm and 113.75Nm at 4000rpm. The CRDi diesel unit, on the other hand, delivers a maximum power output of 73.97bhp at 4000rpm and 190.24Nm between 1750rpm – 2250rpm. Transmission choices will also remain unchanged – i.e. a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic. Rumour has it that Hyundai might offer an AMT gearbox instead of 4-speed automatic unit. New 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 Mileage
Since the powertrains will remain unchanged, the new Grand i10 will be as fuel economical as the current model. The diesel version delivers a claimed mileage of 24.0kmpl, and the petrol model promises 18.9kmpl – 19.1kmpl.

Most of its design bits will be carried over from the new Hyundai Elantra facelift. The latest spy pictures reveal that the 2019 Grand i10 will feature new headlamps, revised bumper and re-designed fog lamp inserts at the front end. The hatchback might receive LED DRLs (daytime running lights). Minimal changes will be made to its side profile. Featuring a pack of new comfort and connectivity features, the interior of new 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 will look entirely different from the current model. While the three-spoke multi-function steering wheel will be retained, it will get newly-designed dashboard, centre console and instrument cluster. The infotainment system will be integrated on the dashboard. It will feature a touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Currently, the hatchback comes with the standard dual airbags (driver & passenger), ABS (anti-lock braking system) and immobilizer. Safety fitments such as smarty key, central locking, front fog lamps, rear parking sensors, rear camera with display on audio and Impact sensing auto door unlock are reserved for higher trims. Reports suggest that the new Hyundai Grand i10 will get EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), speed belt reminder and a speed alert system as standard safety features.
