Honda Cars India is all set to launch the updated version of the WR-V compact SUV in coming weeks. Official bookings have already been commenced a token sum of Rs 21,000. In fact, the updated model has started reaching the dealerships. Ahead of its price and details announcement, the latest spy pictures reveal most of its exterior and interior details. The 2020 Honda WRV model lineup will be made available in two trims – SV and VX – packed with the BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engines.
The petrol version will use the BS6 1.2L motor and the diesel variant will get BS6 1.5L unit. In their BS4 form, both engines deliver a maximum power of 90PS with 110Nm and 100PS with 200Nm respectively. Similar to the existing model, the updated one will come with a 5-speed manual (petrol only) and a 5-speed manual (diesel only) gearbox.
Interior of the 2020 Honda WRV will see noticeable changes. The vehicle will get a touchscreen infotainment system that’s likely to support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Just so you know, the existing unit comes with navigation, voice command and MirrorLink connectivity. The seat upholstery will also be new. Features such as electric sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control (diesel only), electric retract wing mirrors, reverse camera and keyless entry and go (diesel only) will be exclusively offered on the top-end VX trim. The new LED package will be the biggest update made to its exterior. The 2020 Honda WRV will come with the LED projector headlamps with integrated DRLs and position lamps, LED fog lamps and LED taillamps. The front grille and bumper will also be revised.
Prices of the updated WR-V are likely to fall in the range of Rs 8.50 lakh – Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to face challenge from cars like Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and the upcoming Kia Sonet.
