Based on a new platform, the fifth-generation City is claimed to be lighter and more rigid than the previous model. The new architecture also improves its NVH levels and driving dynamics. One of the major changes comes in the form of an all-new, twin-cam 1.5L petrol engine that’s good for 121bhp and 145Nm. The twin-cam (or DOHC valve gear – Double Overhead Camshaft) of the new motor ensures better power spread without compromising performance and fuel economy. While the petrol variants can be had either with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed CVT automatic gearbox (with paddleshifters), the diesel models are offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox only.
