Based on a new platform, the fifth-generation City is claimed to be lighter and more rigid than the previous model. The new architecture also improves its NVH levels and driving dynamics. One of the major changes comes in the form of an all-new, twin-cam 1.5L petrol engine that’s good for 121bhp and 145Nm. The twin-cam (or DOHC valve gear – Double Overhead Camshaft) of the new motor ensures better power spread without compromising performance and fuel economy. The new Honda City 2020 has also been made available with the old 1.5L diesel engine, which has been upgraded to meet BS6 emission norms. The oil burner makes a top power of 100bhp against 200Nm of torque. The new City petrol is claimed to deliver a mileage of 17.8kmpl with the manual and 18.4kmpl with the CVT automatic gearbox. Fuel efficiency of the diesel stands at 24.1kmpl. Compared to the previous generation, the 2020 Honda City is 109mm longer, 53mm wider and 6mm shorter. Its overall length, width and height stand at 4549mm, 1748mm and 1489mm respectively.
