Honda has finally launched the BS6 diesel variants of the 10th generation Honda Civic sedan. The BS6 Honda Civic Diesel is available in 2 variants – VX and ZX – priced at Rs 20.75 lakh and Rs 22.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The BS6 compliant Honda Civic diesel is powered by a 1.6-litre i-DTEC turbo-diesel engine. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 118bhp at 4,000rpm and a peak torque of 300Nm at 2,000rpm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The BS6 Honda Civic diesel is claimed to return an excellent fuel economy of 23.9kmpl (ARAI certified). However, the fuel economy has been reduced drastically compared to the BS4 diesel Civic. It was claimed to return best-in-class mileage of 26.8kmpl. Read – 2020 Honda WR-V Prices and Features
Launched in March 2019, the 10th generation Honda Civic was the best-selling model in its category during last financial year 2019-20. Some of the design highlights of the new Civic includes chromed front grille, signature LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights and uniquely styled C-shaped LED tail-lamps.
The sedan is equipped with high-end features like 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support and a 7-inch digital instrument console. Feature list include electric sunroof, smart entry with push start system, dual-zone climate control, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, electric parking brake and a multi-angle rear view camera. The petrol version of the 10th generation Honda Civic is powered by a 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine paired to a CVT automatic gearbox. This engine is capable of producing 139bhp at 6500rpm and 174Nm at 4300rpm respectively. It is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 16.5kmpl.
