2021 Range Rover, Range Rover Sport Unveiled; Get New Engines

Land Rover has unveiled the 2021 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport SUVs alongside the Range Rover Westminister Edition and SVAutobiography Black Edition. The entire SUV range comes with multiple engine options including three diesel, three petrol and a new 2.0L PHEV motor.

Developed in-house, the new Ingenium powertrains are claimed to be more refined and efficient than the outgoing motors. The diesel engine options include a 3.0L, 6-cylinder D250, D300 and D350 generating power worth 245bhp with 600Nm, 296bhp with 650Nm and 345bhp with 700Nm respectively.

2021 Range Rover Sport

The petrol engine range includes a 3.0L, 6-cylinder P400, a 5.0L V8 supercharged P525, 5.0L V8 supercharged P565 and 2.0L, 4-cylinder PHEV. While the supercharged 5.0L V8 motor is tuned for generating power worth 517bhp (P525) and 56bhp (P565), the 3.0L unit is good enough for 394bhp. The 2.0L petrol PHEV pushes out a peak power of 398bhp against 640Nm of torque.

Design and interior layout remain unchanged. Though, the 2021 Range Rover SUV lineup receives new interior trims and exterior colour options. All variants of the Range Rover Sport get JRL’s latest dual Touch Pro Duo infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and 4G Wi-Fi connections for up to eight devices as standard feature.

Some of its key highlights include multi-zone climate control, power seats, leather upholstery, new embedded Spotify app, a cabin air ionisation system with PM2.5 filtration and more. Based on the Vogue trim, the 2021 Range Rover Westminister Edition comes with newly-designed 21-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass options on the outside, black veneer trim and suede headlining, a 19-speaker Meridian sound system, a panoramic sunroof and soft-close doors.

Developed by JRL’s Special Vehicles Operations, the 2021 Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic Black Edition features black brake callipers and the etched treadplates along with the ebony upholstery with Pimento stitching. The edition has been painted in Santorini Black Metallic shade with Narvik Black Gloss accents.
