At the heart of the 2020 Hero XPulse will be a 199.6cc, air-cooled engine that now meets the BS6 emission standards. The updated fuel-injected motor is claimed to return power worth 17.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 16.45Nm at 6,500rpm. Compared to its BS4 version that was good enough for 18.1bhp and 17.1Nm, the updated motor is slightly less powerful and torqueier. The bikemaker has rerouted its exhaust to assemble a new and larger bash plate and a larger catalytic convertor. Unlike the BS4 engine which was a water-cooled unit, the BS6-compliant version has oil-cooling system.
