Official bookings of the upcoming MG Hector Plus 6-seater SUV have been commenced online and via MG dealerships, for a token amount of Rs 50,000. The model lineup will be made available in three trims – entry-level Super, mid-level Smart and top-end Sharp. Prices of MG’s new three-row SUV will be announced in coming weeks. Though, it’s estimated to cost around Rs 1 lakh higher than the 5-seater Hector. Once launched, it will lock horns against multiple cars right from Mahindra XUV500, upcoming Tata Gravitas and 7-seater Hyundai Creta to Toyota Innova Crysta.
Engine setup will be carried over from the 5-seater Hector – i.e. 1.5L turbo-petrol, 1.5L petrol with a 48V mild hybrid system and a 2.0L diesel unit. The oil burner will make power worth 170bhp and 350Nm of torque and come paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 1.5L turbo-petrol motor, with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, will produce a maximum power of 143bhp and 250Nm of torque. The petrol hybrid powertrain will be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox and deliver 143bhp against 250Nm of torque.
While the entry-level Super will be offered with diesel engine only, the mid-level Smart will be available with diesel and petrol automatic options. The fully-loaded Sharp trim can be had with all three engines. The MG Hector Plus will come with 6-seats configurations with 2+2+2 seating arrangement and individual captain seats in the middle row. Unlike the 5-seater model that has all-black upholstery, the Hector Plus will come with a new Smoked Sepia brown leather seats. A Starry Sky Blue colour scheme will also be exclusively offered on the 6-seater SUV. Some of its key features will include a massive 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, Infinity audio system, MG’s i-Smart connected car technology offering over 55 features, a panoramic sunroof, 8-colour ambient lighting, 6-way power adjustable driver’s seat and a 7-inch MID.
