2 SUV Launches & 4 Unveilings In Next 2 Weeks

The next two weeks are going to be exciting for the auto enthusiasts as there will be multiple new premium product launches and unveilings. While the Volkswagen T-Roc and Citroen C5 Aircross will see the release on 1st and 7th April respectively, the new Volkswagen Taigun, Hyundai Alcazar and 11th generation Honda Civic sedan will make their global debut in coming days. The American SUV manufacturer, Jeep will also unveil the name of its upcoming three-row SUV on 4th April 2021.

Volkswagen Taigun mid-size SUV will be the first one to make its global debut on 31st March 2021, followed by its launch. To be positioned against the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, the new VW SUV will be based on the India-specific MQB A0 IN platform and come with a 115bhp, 1.0L TSI turbo petrol and 150bhp, 1.5L TSI turbo petrol engine options. The SUV will offer three gearboxes – a 6-speed manual (standard), a 6-speed torque converter automatic (1.0L petrol only) and a 7-speed DSG automatic (1.5L petrol only).

Volkswagen Taigun SUV India

After the Taigun, the German carmaker will reintroduce the Volkswagen T-Roc SUV on 1st April 2021. It will continue to come in a single variant packed with a 148bhp, 1.5L TSI engine and a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. Compared to the first batch units, the second one could be expensive by Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh.

Reports suggest that Jeep will announce official name of its upcoming 7-seater SUV on 4th April 2021. It’s likely to be christened as Jeep Patriot. The SUV will make its way to India sometime next year. Powering the model will be Compass’ 2.0L turbo diesel engine with a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic gearbox options. Though, the motor could be tuned for generating power over 200bhp and 400Nm of torque.

Hyundai Alcazar Teased

Hyundai will unveil its upcoming three-row SUV which will be based on the Creta on 6th April 2021. Called the Hyundai Alcazar, the model will share most of its design elements, features and powertrains with the 5-seat Creta. A few noticeable changes, however, will be made to it. The Alcazar will take on the cars like MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV500.

Citroen C5 Aircross is slated to launch on 7th April 2021. It will be the first offering from the French carmaker in the country. It will be made available in two variants – Feel and Shine – powered by a 177bhp, 2.0L turbo diesel engine. Paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, the motor will deliver a claimed mileage of 18.6kmpl.

Citroen C5 Aircross Spec

The new-generation Honda Civic will have its world premiere in coming days. Its official unveiling date, however, is yet to be revealed. The sedan’s new model will be offered in four trims and two new colour schemes. Globally, it will be made available with a 1.5L VTEC turbo petrol and Honda i-MMD hybrid powertrain options.
