The next-gen Honda HR-V will be offered 3 engine options – a 1.5L i-VTEC, 1.5L VTEC Turbo and 1.5L i-MMD e:HEV. On the other hand, the upcoming Honda ZR-V sub-compact SUV is likely to be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder VTEC Turbo engine that also powers the Honda Civic Turbo in Europe and the Honda City Turbo in Thailand. There could be a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine for few markets.

The next-gen Honda HR-V will also mark the debut of brand’s new Honda Global Platform. The report claims that the new mid-sized SUV will measure around 4.4 meters in length. The next-gen HR-V will directly rival the Jeep Compass. The sub-4 meter SUV is expected to be based on the new City platform, which also underpins the current HR-V SUV.
