Tata Motors is planning to expand its Indian product portfolio in the coming years. The upcoming lineup will include several all-new models, new variants and special editions of the existing models. Recently, the carmaker filed applications for the Camo and Dark editions of all its existing models including Tiago hatchback, Tigor compact sedan, Altroz premium hatchback, Nexon subcompact SUV and Harrier. The company also trademarked Camo and Dark editions for the upcoming Tata Gravitas 6/7-seater SUV.

One must note that the official launch date and details of the special Tata Camo and Dark editions are yet to be announced by the carmaker. All these new models might soon join Tata’s lineup, expect the Tata Gravitas Dark and Camo Editions. Based on the Harrier, the Gravitas SUV is slated to hit showrooms early next year. While its launch is a few months away, a digital rendering previews a possible design of its Dark Edition.

Tata Camo Edition

Painted in black shade, the rendered Tata Gravitas Dark edition features a blacked-out front grille along with a few chrome inserts. The blacked-out alloy wheels, roof rails, side mirrors and door handles further enhance its sporty appeal. Its overall design and styling is exactly similar to its concept that broke cover at this year’s Auto Expo. The Gravitas will be longer (63mm) and wider (83mm) than the Harrier. Its overall length and width will stand at 4,661mm and 1,894mm wide respectively.

In order to accommodate the extra row of seats, the carmaker has stretched its rear overhand. Though, its wheelbase remains unchanged. As mentioned above, it will come with both 6 and 7-seats configurations. Under the hood, the upcoming 7-seater SUV from Tata will feature the Harrier’s 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine delivering 168bhp and 350Nm. The Gravitas can be had either with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. It will be Tata’s flagship SUV and is estimated to be priced from Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
