2 New Car Unveilings Next Week – Tata, Honda

Several exciting new cars are ready to hit roads this month (April 2022). It will kick start with the global unveiling of the new Honda HR-V SUV on 4th April, followed by the new Tata electric car on 6th April. Here’re key details of both the upcoming models that we know so far.

Honda will unveil the 2023 HR-V SUV for the North American markets on 4th April. Ahead of its global debut, the automaker has released multiple design sketches revealing its design details. The front fascia of the SUV has been entirely revised with the bigger octagonal grille with S-shaped mesh design, updated bumper and larger and squarish headlamps. It gets the newly-designed tailgate and taillamps. Its American version will be longer than the Europe-spec model.

While its interior images and details are still under the wraps, the 2023 Honda HR-V is likely to share its cabin layout and features with the new Civic. This time around, the SUV could be offered with the hybrid powertrain. It’s likely to come with Honda’s e:HEV system that has two electric motors and a 1.5L iMMD petrol engine. Its combined power will be 109bhp. The new Honda SUV might also be offered with the 2.0L, 4-cylinder petrol (158bhp) and 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol (180bhp) engines, borrowed from the new Civic.

Tata Motors hasn’t yet revealed the name of the upcoming model. Speculations are on rife that it could be the long-range Tata Nexon EV or the Tata Sierra EV. The automaker has been working on multiple electric cars including the updated Tigor EV, Altroz EV and Punch EV. The new Tata electric car is likely to come with the brand’s updated Ziptron technology.
