BMW’s 5-Series luxury sedan is ready to get a mid-life update in the country. The new model had its global debut in May last year. The 2021 BMW 5 Series comes with noticeable styling tweaks and feature upgrades. The sedan gets a newly-designed, wider front grille, which is positioned slightly lower than before. Other updates include new headlamps with BMW’s Laserlight tech, L-shaped DRLs and indicators, redesigned taillamps and trapezoidal tailpipes.

Inside, there is the latest generation BMW’s iDrive infotainment system with a 10.3-inch touchscreen, newly-designed dashboard and a revised centre console. On the engine front, the 2021 BMW 5 Series is likely to offer the same 252bhp, 2.0L petrol, 190bhp, 2.0L diesel and 265bhp, 3.0L diesel engines with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. It’s prices are expected to fall in the range of Rs 56 lakh – Rs 69.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

Skoda Kushaq

Skoda Kushaq Production Begins

The upcoming Kushaq will be Skoda’s answer to the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The SUV model lineup will be spread across three trim levels – Active, Ambition and Style – packed with 1.0L TSI turbo petrol and 1.5L TSI turbo petrol engines. The smaller capacity gasoline unit, which will be reserved for the Active trim, delivers power worth 115bhp and 178Nm of torque. The bigger capacity motor is good enough for 150bhp and 250Nm. This will make it the most powerful petrol SUV in its category.

The Skoda Kushaq will be available with three gearbox options – 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed DSG automatic. It will be Skoda’s first production model to be built on the India-specific MQB AO IN platform. Prices of the Kushaq are likely to start from Rs 10 lakh for the entry-level variant and go up to Rs 16 lakh for the fully-loaded top-end trim.
